Creating non-slip reusable pads and ending period taboo
Scotland-based Martina Tuskova has a strong background in creative arts, having studied art, design, photography and fashion for manufacturing. Her business, Eco Devana, takes this knowledge and combines it with her personal love of nature.
The company’s first innovation is a reusable period pad. Although there are similar products on the market, Martina was unsatisfied with their design and wanted to address specific issues. The result is her innovative design of reusable pads that do not slide in underwear.
Martina’s drive is to provide health education that takes away the shame of periods and period poverty, while creating products that reduce plastic pollution.
“This is a life-changing opportunity that will help me move from the prototype stage to actually running a real business. I look forward to the Young Innovators programme supporting me to plan, build and launch the products, as well as start other innovative projects. I want to fill my skills gaps, learn how to progress with projects quickly, and find people who have skills I don’t.”
