Building an online community for those following a gluten-free lifestyle
In 2019, Ranveer Sahota’s girlfriend was diagnosed with coeliac disease. Since then, he has seen first hand the challenges people face adapting to live a gluten-free lifestyle.
As a self-taught coder, Ranveer is passionate about building experiences that solve problems. The more he realised how widely misunderstood coeliac disease is, the more it fuelled him to do something about it.
He decided to create Gluten Free Glee, an online review and community platform for those following a gluten-free diet. Users can share their experiences and leave reviews for businesses, rating them on their “gluten-free friendliness”.
The first version of the platform is currently in development. Ranveer is gathering feedback from users before making it more widely available in 2023.
“I was looking for a support network that would push me forward, as well as real business support and mentoring to help me in the areas where I lack experience. When I discovered the Young Innovators programme, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for,” he says.
