The problem and opportunity
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women, yet cardiovascular science and tools have been built on male data. Pregnancy is nature’s cardiovascular stress test: women with pregnancy blood pressure problems carry up to 4x lifetime cardiovascular risk, yet care is episodic and falls off a cliff after birth. Catching and modifying risk in pregnancy and postpartum is the chance to change a woman’s heart health for life.
The solution and innovation
Megi turns daily AI-powered conversations, home blood pressure (BP) monitoring and smartphone signals into clinical intelligence: a 24/7 multilingual companion for women, real-time risk alerts for clinicians. Trained, trusted community workers carry it into underserved communities. A regulated Class I medical device with proven engagement (50.3% one-year retention, 5,000+ users). Our award validates smartphone monitoring across pregnancy into the postpartum.
Market and ambition
Deployed in UK and US pilots with partners including Action on Pre-eclampsia and March of Dimes, and reimbursable via US Medicaid doula and remote monitoring pathways. Pregnancy is our wedge into a decades-long relationship: over 3 years we will scale across NHS and US maternity care into lifelong cardiovascular care.
