The problem and opportunity
Every 10 minutes, around 120 people suffer a stroke — and for many, survival is only the beginning. Around 40% never regain meaningful movement in their affected hand and arm, leaving millions unable to live independently. Existing rehabilitation often cannot help the most severely impaired because they lack enough movement for therapy to build on, leaving a large, underserved population and clinics without the tools to reach them.
The solution and innovation
We sit at the very start of the recovery pathway, building the first foundation of movement so previously unreachable patients become treatable. June is a patented wrist-worn neuromodulation device with a single earphone, designed to restore movement, strength and muscle health. This creates value across the system by giving patients earlier access to tailored treatments, therapists a new rehabilitation tool, and clinics the ability to expand their addressable market and support patients with urgent unmet needs.
Market and ambition
We work with UK public and private clinics, increasing their reach to treat up to 40% more patients. Over the next three years, we plan to scale deployment across multiple continents, expanding access to neural strength training for people worldwide.
Founder perspective
Laura has over 10 years of experience working with stroke survivors and developing new materials. She is the named inventor on KnitRegen’s patent, winner of the 2021 London Mayor’s Entrepreneur Award, and recipient of a prestigious UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship, based in The Queen Square Institute of Neurology at UCL.
