The problem and opportunity
Around 80-90% of enterprise data is unstructured text, from notes and feedback to reports, news and online discussions, and it’s growing three times faster than structured data. It contains the leading indicators and context behind business outcomes, yet remains difficult to analyse reliably. Generic AI delivers inconsistent, non-reproducible results, leaving critical insights buried and decisions based on incomplete evidence.
The solution and innovation
Wholesum grounds AI text analysis in a proprietary statistical framework: every response is assessed by comparative judgement in the context of the full dataset. Unlike raw LLMs, its outputs are reproducible, uncertainty-aware and able to scale to millions of data points, matching human judgement where standalone models fail. The technology has been validated in pharma and market research, with pilots underway in financial services and government intelligence.
Market and ambition
We serve high-trust industries including pharma, investment, and government intelligence. We have converted early pilots into annual contracts. Over the next 2–3 years, we will target multi-market enterprise deployments, building recurring API-first licensing revenue across regulated, high-stakes industries.
Founder perspective
After a career turning data into insight for global brands at Publicis Groupe and WPP, Emily saw first-hand how much intelligence sits unused in text. She founded Wholesum with world-leading statisticians and engineers on a simple belief: data should be chosen for richness and value, not ease of analysis.
