The problem and opportunity
Home renovation is complex, fragmented and poorly documented. Millions of homeowners must coordinate budgets, regulations, contractors and sustainability decisions without professional support, leading to cost overruns and low-carbon measures being lost. Existing tools focus on inspiration or project management, not helping homeowners make informed decisions before work begins.
The solution and innovation
HomeNotes combines architectural expertise, trusted datasets and AI to help homeowners generate budgets, specifications and contractor-ready documentation. Unlike existing renovation tools, it brings together regulation, carbon, product and cost information to support better decisions before work begins. Our Innovate UK-funded MVP has validated demand with paying users and strong trial conversion.
Market and ambition
HomeNotes serves homeowners and small residential practices. We have paying users, strong trial conversion and are developing our AI platform through Innovate UK. Over the next 2–3 years, we aim to scale across the UK before expanding into international markets.
Founder perspective
After more than a decade as a Chartered Architect, Jane co-founded HomeNotes to make architectural expertise accessible to every homeowner. She combines trusted data, responsible AI and human-centered design to help people deliver better, lower-carbon renovations.
