Cohort Announcement for the Battery & Critical Materials Investment Readiness Programme 2025

Spanning the whole value chain. Building trusted networks.
A wide range of critical materials are required for the technologies and innovation needed to decarbonise and achieve the UK’s Net Zero ambitions. These successful organisations have demonstrated innovations that span the whole value chain, from mining, materials and manufacturing through to end-use deployment, recycling, recovery and valorisation.
This programme is a collaborative effort between Innovate UK Business Connect, Mountside Ventures and Stronger Stories. It has been designed specifically for established companies that are actively developing a defined product or solution. The programme is tailored for SMEs who are preparing to engage with investors in the next 6–12 months and need support refining their pitch, investment materials, and fundraising strategy.
Joining forces and combining strengths
The £452 million Battery Innovation Programme and the £15 million CLIMATES programme are joining forces through a new Investment Readiness initiative, backing 21 pioneering innovators who represent the full value chain; from mining and materials, deployment in key sectors, and the recycling, recovery and valorisation of critical resources, these companies are driving forward the future of energy storage, electrified transport and more sustainable supply chains. By combining strengths in batteries and critical materials, the programmes are not only opening up exciting opportunities for innovation collaboration across the value chain, but also giving investors direct access to high-quality businesses, technologies and market intelligence shaping the UK’s Net Zero transition.
