How seven councils across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are collaborating to benefit residents

The Co-County Carbon Coordination project sees seven councils – Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire County, Derbyshire County, Derby City, Rushcliffe, Broxtowe and Gedling – working together to develop shared plans and test new ways to engage the public, encourage behaviour change and attract investment.

A regional energy planning dashboard is helping councils collaborate and use data to identify shared priorities. In Broxtowe, a citizen panel explored how to address local flooding in a fair way. In Derby and Derbyshire Dales, a Green Rewards trial is testing how incentives can encourage people to make climate-friendly choices that also improve their health and lower their energy bills.

Net Zero Living funding has also allowed Nottingham-based FSG Tableware to work with six NHS Trusts on the development of reusable packaging, showing how climate innovation can support both public services and local businesses.
