UK Innovation Opportunities for Rare Earth Permanent Magnets
Join us on the 4th November for the launch of the CLIMATES Innovation Landscape Summary Report.
Recording now available
Permanent magnets made from rare earth elements (REEs) continue to be a critical resource for the net zero transition, used in a variety of technological applications including electric vehicles and wind turbines. Since the beginning of 2023, the Circular Critical Materials Supply Chains (CLIMATES) programme has delivered a range of activities to boost the resilience of UK REE supply chains including community building, innovation funding and landscaping studies.
Join us on the 4th November for the launch of the CLIMATES Innovation Landscape Summary Report. The Summary Report highlights the key innovation opportunities across the REE value chain for permanent magnets, including Extraction, Processing, Magnet Manufacturing, Circular Economy and Alternatives. Over the following months we will release the detailed reports on each of these topics.
About the Event
You will hear from a panel of experts who will outline the key findings and discuss how innovation can unlock opportunities for the UK REE supply chain. On the panel will be:
- Holly Elliot, Minerals Geoscientist at the British Geological Survey
- Robert Olrog, Consultant at Carbon Limiting Technologies
- Matthew Reeves, Knowledge Transfer Manager for Critical Materials at Innovate UK Business Connect.
