About the pilot

Through the Advanced manufacturing: Measurement and sensing pilot, Innovate UK is testing new ways of identifying and supporting innovative businesses with strong growth potential, helping them accelerate their journey from innovation to commercial success.

Alongside grant funding, successful applicants could benefit from a tailored nine-month programme of support designed to unlock growth, including:

  • a more connected and personalised experience with Innovate UK
  • deeper engagement focused on your business as a whole, not just a single project
  • enhanced access to relevant expertise, networks and investors engagement opportunities
  • support to explore international markets, build global connections and identify routes to scale
  • opportunities and connections that go beyond a single funding competition
  • a relationship focused on growth ambitions, challenges and opportunities

Businesses must be developing a technology, product or service based on measurement, sensing or instrumentation that solves a problem faced by advanced manufacturing supply chains in the UK. They will improve the productivity, resource efficiency or resilience of a manufacturer.

The supply chains must be part of at least one of the following UK advanced manufacturing supply chains:

  • automotive
  • aerospace
  • battery
  • space
  • the commercial production of advanced materials

About the events

Following the online briefing event, there will be two drop in sessions where potential applicants can address any queries informally to Innovate UK and Innovate UK Business Connect. These will be held on 22 and 30 September from 10:30 to 11:30.
