About the event
Scoping Projects will build networks between the UK, Brazil, Ghana and Nigeria, and identify opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing to promote climate-smart agriculture for sustainable food production systems in Ghana and Nigeria.
At this online event, you will hear about the topic-specific networks each Scoping Project will be looking to build, and future activities you can get involved with.
Who is this online event for?
This networking opportunity is for innovators and researchers working in the UK, Ghana, Nigeria or Brazil who are interested in developing collaborative climate-smart agriculture solutions for implementation in Ghana and/or Nigeria.
Why attend?
This event is the first opportunity to join a growing trilateral AgriFood research and innovation network. Join us at this event to:
- Connect with the 12 Scoping Project leads and hear about the topic areas that will be explored in these projects
- Learn how to get involved in future activities and identify where your innovation or expertise could fit into a Scoping Project topic area
- Meet with other international innovators, researchers and businesses in short networking sessions
- Start to build long-lasting research partnerships to take advantage of future funding opportunities.
What is a ‘Scoping Project’?
The aim of a Scoping Project is to scope and document a range of potential solutions to climate-smart agriculture and sustainable food production system challenges within a broad topic area. A Scoping Project is not your typical research project looking at one solution to a single agricultural problem.
A Scoping Project could, for example, focus on a crop system (e.g. cocoa or oil palm), or a broad technological area offering potential solutions (e.g. digital solutions or breeding technologies).
Scoping Projects will deliver a range of network-building activities and workshops between the UK, Brazil Ghana and Nigeria between December 2024 and January 2025. They will provide a pipeline of potential innovations and solutions that are either ready to implement or which could take advantage of future research and development funding.
Future funding competitions through the Climate-Smart Agriculture Partnership will fund individual trilateral innovation projects and will be announced in 2025.
