Unlocking Net Zero: An Introduction to the Support Ecosystem for UK SMEs
Join us and step into the future of place-based decarbonisation with Innovate UK Business Connect and the Innovate UK Net Zero Living programme.
About the event
The United Kingdom is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2050, aiming to achieve the net zero target. This ambitious goal requires the public, private and third sectors to work collaboratively and support each other to drive meaningful change. Across the UK, there are 5.5 million SMEs, accounting for 99.2% of the total business population and collectively they account for roughly half of the UK’s business greenhouse gas emissions. While many SMEs are eager to reduce their carbon emissions, they will often require support in navigating the journey to Net Zero.
This webinar will showcase the ecosystem of organisations working to support UK SMEs on their Net Zero journey. You will hear from those leading national initiatives as well as those providing tailored support for SMEs in the devolved nations.
By the end of the session, you will:
- Have an understanding of the key organisations who are offering net zero support and advice for SMEs
- Be aware of the resources and programmes available to help SMEs on their climate and wider sustainability journey.
Who should attend?
This webinar is suitable for:
- Local authorities seeking to understand the range of net zero support available to businesses
- SMEs that are new to net zero or those already on their journey but in need of additional guidance and support
