Global Alliance Africa delivered by Innovate UK KTN is delighted to invite you to register your interest to attend the Ekiti Innovation Network Convening event, with a special focus on innovation in agriculture.

In November 2021, the Eldoret Innovation Action Plan (IAP) was launched by the Global Alliance Africa Project team and its Eldoret Innovation Network Advisory Board (EINAB). The IAP is designed to support local and regional innovation in Eldoret and part of its pilot Place-Based Innovation programme in Kenya.

Given the impact of renewable energy, Kenya has seen an improvement in its energy access. According to the Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA), the country has close to 80% of electricity connectivity, of which about 25-30% is solar systems. This insight was shared during the Energy Catalyst’s launch and brokerage event that took place in Kenya on 28 June.

On the 23^rd of June, Innovate UK KTN and Innovate UK held the first ever in-person Cohort Event for the Transforming Foundation Industries Challenge (TFI).

Lord Simon Haskel, Deputy Speaker of the House of Lords, welcomed KTN and Innovate UK for an evening reception on “Shaping the Future of the Foundation Industries” on 23^rd June.

Made Smarter Innovation, Immerse UK and AREA in collaboration with the HVMC, is holding an enterprise XR workshop / demonstration event on the 28th – 29th September 2022, taking place at the AMRC Factory 2050 in Sheffield, UK. We will be looking at Augmented Reality (AR) technologies and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies across a two day event, and its benefits and how it can be used within your organisation.

These events are for innovators who want to apply for funding to work on longer-term sustainable protein projects that will benefit farmers, growers or foresters in England.

Your proposed project should focus on Defra priorities around sustainable protein production. Project ideas should aim to transform farming productivity, environmental sustainability and resilience, whilst moving the sector towards net zero.
