AgriFood funding opportunities as part of Horizon Europe – May 2023
Horizon Europe offers funding for innovative projects between organisations in Europe (including the UK). It is the European Union’s Research and Innovation programme and has a €95.5 billion budget for seven-years (2021-2027).
All types of organisations can apply (as part of a consortium) including SMEs, start-ups, large businesses and research organisations.
Beyond the funding, it’s an opportunity to form collaborations in new supply chains, to build relationships with multinational partners, to reach new markets, and facilitate uptake of new technologies by end users and customers. It’s a unique opportunity to participate in large world changing projects with key European and international organisations.
Horizon Europe funding spans many sectors, including Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment (cluster 6), which are relevant to AgriFood.
The UK is a candidate associated country to Horizon Europe. This means UK organisations can apply for Horizon Europe funding as if the UK was already associated to the programme. For more information on the current status of the UK, click here.
