The New European Bauhaus (NEB) was launched in 2021, striving to translate the European Green Deal into tangible change on the ground. It is a multi-annual (2025-2027) and cross-cutting tool to revitalise European neighbourhoods with design for sustainability and inclusion. It will support projects on the sustainable transformation of the built environment. The NEB Facility aims to make the inhabitants of the built environment partners of change.

Activities under the NEB Facility should contribute to the wider social acceptance of the innovative solutions developed, accelerating the just green and digital transformation and strengthening and restoring citizens’ trust in democracy. They should also explore the built environment’s function in the conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems, its relation to historical urban, peri-urban or rural areas, the improvement of social cohesion as well as people’s health and well-being.

Calls under the NEB Facility are divided into three Destinations:

  1. Connecting the green transformation, social inclusion and local democracy
  2. Circular and regenerative approaches for the built environment
  3. Innovative funding and new business models for the transformation of neighbourhoods

Details of the calls under each Destination are given below. These are all single-stage calls with a deadline of 12 November 2025.

Details of an info day for the NEB Facility will appear on the Horizon Europe events page when available.

UK organisations and businesses can apply for Horizon Europe funding, working as part of a three-country consortium with at least one member from within the EU (see “Who can apply?” below). If you are interested in one of the calls and would like to find a collaboration partner, contact Innovate UK Business Connect’s European Programmes team.

  • In line with Horizon Europe, all the actions supported by this call are open to actors from EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries.

    Unless otherwise provided for in the specific call/topic conditions, only legal entities forming a consortium are eligible to participate in actions provided that the consortium includes, as beneficiaries, three legal entities independent from each other and each established in a different country as follows:

    • at least one independent legal entity established in a Member State;
    • and at least two other independent legal entities, each established in different Member States or Associated Countries (this includes the UK).

    Our European team can help you find eligible partners to form a consortium.

    There may be further eligibility conditions for specific topics. Please check the Work Programme and talk to our team to ensure your eligibility before applying.
