Each GBIP aims to help UK businesses grow and scale on a global stage through building R&D and innovation collaborations and partnerships and accelerating access to the market.
The programme consists of a Get ready preparation phase followed by a market visit to Singapore, to include a 5-day tailored programme to connect with businesses, research organisations, and other key stakeholders, followed by an Exploit the opportunity workshop.
The programme will provide a unique opportunity to find partners and identify opportunities for technology and innovation collaboration. Participants will benefit from bespoke support from an innovation and growth specialist to leverage the contacts, opportunities and knowledge gained and to support the growth journey of the business.
To find out more, sign up for the online briefing event on Wednesday 9 July, 10-11am BST.

Singapore’s Research, Innovation and Enterprise 2025 Plan aims to better transform and protect health, advance human potential & create economic value for Singapore. Priorities include transforming and protecting health through (i) shifting the focus towards both health promotion & disease prevention as the population ages (ii) supporting the health system to become more data-driven and patient-centric to deliver value-based care through the innovative use of both technology and digital solutions at scale (iii) using data analytics to support public health actions & telemedicine to deliver quality care to the wider population and (iv) expanding the national precision medicine research programme. A further priority is maximising economic value by growing a vibrant mix of start-ups and scale-ups with a strong translational ecosystem, with a particular focus on biotech companies.
With the Asia-Pacific Medical Technology (MedTech) market expected to grow to US$225 billion by 2030, Singapore is strategically placed to enable companies to tap into these regional opportunities, and Singapore’s network of top universities, research institutions and innovative start-ups also enable MedTech companies to fully engage with a vibrant open innovation ecosystem.
Singapore has an advanced digital economy and is consistently ranked as one of the world’s most innovative cities. Innovate UK has a thriving bilateral partnership with Enterprise Singapore. Since 2021, there have been 2 three-yearMoUs agreed (latest 2024-27), setting out joint activities to be undertaken to support stronger UK-Singapore co-innovation. In the agreements, Health & Medical Technologies have been identified as a specific area of collaboration. In addition, through open annual bilateral CR&D funding calls (in operation since 2022), health and medical technology proposals have been one of the largest sources of responses between the UK and Singapore, demonstrating significant industry demand for collaboration in this field.
