Symvan Capital is an EIS & SEIS fund manager, investing in software and innovative digital technology companies servicing B2B enterprise customers, often disrupting their industry with potential to scale, across industries of insurance, financial services, human resources and the workplace, and typically utilising emerging enabling technology of AI and blockchain.

Beyond the sector focus, Symvan’s funds are regionally agnostic in the UK. We welcome investments in companies that are founder-led from individuals with industry experience, founders with previous entrepreneurship experience, and first-time founders with ambition and drive to make their idea a success.

Symvan’s approach typically begins with a pre-seed SEIS investment which is then followed by EIS investments from our later stage fund to accelerate development and growth. Our follow-on strategy is baked into our due diligence with the expectation that if product and commercial progress is as planned, the follow-on capital will be available. We are, however, happy to begin our relationship with companies at the EIS stage too, so companies are actively encouraged to apply across both EIS and SEIS.

We are far more selective for SEIS stage investments than many other funds, preferring fewer companies at this earlier stage, to allow our investment managers to devote more time to provide support when required. Support for founders and management is necessary. We recognise that many will face unexpected challenges during their journey and our helping hand extends to a pragmatic approach, acting as any trusted adviser.
