We typically invest in companies with strong management teams and company culture, a proven commercial model with clear market fit and those companies disrupting an established market. As a sector agnostic investor, we have extensive experience of overcoming the scale-up difficulties that growing companies face and are able to draw on our broad knowledge to support and guide our portfolio companies through these challenges.

We work closely with our management teams to deliver transformational change, providing dedicated high levels of resource from our team drawing on our broad experience to help a business define and refine their growth plan. Our primary focus is supporting our companies to grow — facilitating a higher and faster rate of growth than would otherwise be possible, and with a lower risk of failure. We do this by concentrating on the fundamentals of good business practice, building on our experience of working with growing scaleups over the last 20 years.

Our ultra-active approach extends to our Value Acceleration Team that provide specialist support on all areas of strategy and financial management. In addition, we benefit from sector experts across the Group which provide advice and guidance to the portfolio on specialist functions such as HR, marketing and legal.

We know that having access to a broader network of companies facing similar scale-up opportunities and challenges is important. We’ve developed tailored programmes aimed at the senior managers and finance professionals from our portfolio companies. At our in-person portfolio events our companies can get to know other founding teams and learn from companies that have already tackled similar challenges.
