The mass electrification of transport as part of the UK’s transition to Net Zero provides a potentially significant source of distributed energy flexibility, which can help cost-effectively integrate renewables as well as providing financial benefits to Electric Vehicle owners. While smart charging enables EVs to charge flexibly, the development of V2X bi-directional charging technology and commercial services can unlock even more flexibility from EVs.
Following the UK’s world-leading V2G innovation programme and the recent V2X Call for Evidence, government representatives will set out their thoughts on future innovation needs and invite you to provide feedback to inform options for potential future innovation activity.
