Support for improvements and innovation across sectors and industries survey, May 2022
This study aims to better understand the demand for improvement and innovation support, and how we can best help you tackle challenges and grasp opportunities. We are keen to hear about any support you have experienced whilst working on an innovative project within your organisation. Those who complete the survey will receive a report with the findings of this study.
Purpose of the survey
We are here to help businesses and organisations tackle the problems and challenges they face and enable them to explore and grasp potential opportunities for innovation and improvement on the horizon.
To do this well we need your input about what support will work best for you in the future, and how it might be tailored to your industry or sector, organisation or business type and size, as well as the nature of challenges or opportunities you are facing.
Regardless of the role that you are doing (we believe challenges and opportunities are everywhere!), we want to hear from everyone including:
- people who work as sole traders to those who work in start-ups, SMEs and corporate organisations
- people who work in the public, private and third sectors, front line services or within academia
- people who work across different industries from advanced technology to artisan, manual to professional, manufacturing, services, leisure and knowledge-based economies and every other sector
- all types of organisations with challenges and opportunities that will lead to positive change, design improvements, innovative projects and programmes – however large or small, urgent or important
Where you have previously engaged with and received support, we are also interested in understanding your experiences with that support. We are keen to hear about any type of improvement, change or innovative support you have experienced, be it from internal staff or external resources and not just those related to Innovate UK funding and programmes.
This study aims to better understand the demand for improvement and innovation effectiveness support, and how we can best help you tackle challenges and grasp opportunities.
What organisations would we like to participate in this survey?
Organisations including businesses of all types (from sole-traders to start-ups, to SMEs and corporates), public sector and government organisations (local and national, including front line services), non-government organisations (charities and CIC etc.), academic and research institutions.
Your personal data
All responses will be treated as confidential and will be analysed by our appointed agent, Three Rise. Three Rise will report back data and themes from the research, but will not name any individual respondents or organisations (this survey is anonymous with regard to individuals’, companies’ and organisations’ names).
All data will be kept in GDPR compliant systems.
With the above in mind, please do be as frank as you possibly can be in your response.
The survey structure
Part 1: Questions about the sector in which you work, the business or organisation you work within, and the role you undertake.
Part 2: Questions on experiences of change, improvement and innovation projects and programmes, and any support you have received – and associated impacts the support may have had.
Part 3: Where you have current business and organisational challenges or opportunities that you are facing, there are questions on the nature of these and whether, in your view, any support might be helpful – as well as the type of support you might be open to receiving.
Please note that we have developed some definitions for the purposes of the survey – these are shown once you open the link.
We expect the survey to take between 10-25 minutes. Thank you again for giving us your insight and input.
