Ambition North - Celebrating a World of Innovation in the North of England
Registration is now open for an Innovate UK, ERDF, Leeds LEP event designed specifically to support the SME market of the North of England.
The Ambition North event, on 1st November 2018 in Leeds, is inviting SMEs in the North of England to take part in a one day event featuring world-leading speakers and business success stories from the UK and overseas – demonstrating the vast business growth opportunities available to you.
Themes include:
- Spark Innovative Ideas -  Do you want to drive revenue from your ideas, and get workable solutions from people who have lived it?
- Create Competitive Edge -¬†If you are spinning more plates than you can handle, find out how to create ones that bounce.¬†Change Management doesn’t have to be painful.

The exciting line-up of speakers includes:
LJ Rich, BBC Technology Reporter (Event Host) - LJ regularly writes and presents for BBC national television and radio, explaining trends and concepts in technology, social media and consumer electronics. She’s probably best known as a presenter on BBC’s ‘Click’ technology show, where she’s interviewed everyone from the founder of Twitter to the CEO of Google and travelled the world to chronicle technology trends.
Drs. Gea Sijpkes MBA - As General Manager at Stichting Woon- en Zorgcentrum Humanitas Deventer, Gea has developed the elderly care organisation into a true inclusive community as a warm and welcoming centre point in the neighbourhood. She will tell the story of Humanitas.
Gihan Perera - Originally from Sri Lanka, Gihan is a futurist, conference speaker, author and consultant who gives business leaders a glimpse into what’s ahead – and how they can become fit for the future. Forbes magazine rated him the #5 social media influencer in the world in his area of expertise. He wil speak on the topic of Bright Sparks – Innovation & Collaboration.
Fraser Doherty -¬†You might not think that there’s a great opportunity to reinvent everyday products, but one young Scottish entrepreneur proved that inspiration can sometimes be right under our noses. Having learned to make jam from his Grandmother at the age of 14, he went on to create ‘SuperJam’. His brand of 100% fruit jams launched into thousands of supermarket stores around the world to a media fanfare. Having created innovation in what was considered to be quite a stuffy category, the products went on to sell millions.¬†Fraser will be a perfect addition to this event as a real life ‚Äúbeen there and done that‚Äù entrepreneur.
Marty Wilson -¬†Marty Wilson’s career path to date is nothing if not varied. He’s a former pharmacist who became an award-winning advertising copywriter then a full-time stand-up comedian for 8 years before becoming a best-selling author and in-demand speaker. He will speak about¬†Change without Fear – The Science of Using Humour to Manage Stress and Conquer Your Fear of Change.
