Communications Manager Wanted
A vacancy has now arisen for a Communications Manager to join our busy and friendly communications and marketing team.
The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) is Innovate UK’s network partner, and also works with other funders to bring together businesses, entrepreneurs, and academics to develop new products, processes and services. We help businesses to grow the economy and improve people’s lives by capturing maximum value from innovative ideas, scientific research and creativity.
A vacancy has now arisen for a Communications Manager to join our busy and friendly communications and marketing team.  The purpose of the role is to develop stories and campaigns, for dissemination across our own, and third-party channels, working particularly with the KTN’s nine Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These are community-focused groups established to promote growth and activities in key emerging technologies across a range of sectors, and currently include immersive technology, additive manufacturing, synthetic biology and energy harvesting.
The role will be required to:
·      Identify strong opportunities for knowledge sharing (especially across KTN’s SIG teams), developing material for campaigns and stories on and offline.
·      Produce and promote high quality original content in a wide range of formats, working in collaboration with the communications and marketing team and wider KTN directorates.
·      Create compelling case studies and success stories.
·      Create news stories for dissemination through relevant mechanisms including social media, media briefings and blogs.
The role will require a relevant (science-based) degree and understanding of communications and marketing. In addition, we are looking for candidates with excellent writing skills and bags of creative ideas for transferring knowledge to new and existing audiences.
