Driverless cars could be navigating our roads very soon
We want to bring together representatives of the Automotive, Modelling, Simulations, AI, Augmented Reality and Gaming worlds.
For CAVs to be part of any future transport system, they need to perform under the same variety and unpredictability of circumstances that human drivers can currently manage and, in the long term, outperform humans in the driving task itself.
In the recently published Industrial Strategy, the government outlined its ambition to have self-driving vehicles on the UK roads by 2021. Today, the UK Government has just agreed on a landmark Automotive Sector Deal which offered details on the next stages of funding for the CAV world.
The first of 2 competitions launching shortly are dedicated to Modelling, Simulations, AI and AR for Connected and Automated Vehicles will offer £15 million to industry-led R&D projects that use holistic simulation and modelling systems to develop approval mechanisms and standards for connected and autonomous vehicles.
If you are from the areas of Modelling, Simulations, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, you are strongly encouraged to get involved.
KTN is hosting a series of events where you can learn more about the opportunities in this area. You will have the opportunity to form collaborations, discuss the future developments in the field, as well as find out how ideas and technologies from other fields can be incorporated and find out more about the funding competition.
There will be pitching opportunities for those that want to showcase their work and approach in order to facilitate better networking opportunities.
