Exploring the value of emerging technologies for agriculture
Agri-Tech East is hosting events throughout the year bringing together farmers and growers with scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs.
The East of England is sometimes been referred to as Britain‚Äôs breadbasket, with approximately three-quarters of the land in the region used for agriculture. Its¬†climate, landscape and fertile soils are ideally suited for growing a variety of crops – from cereals to fruit, from peas to salads. Pig and poultry production also play a major role in the region’s agricultural tapestry. Overall, the East of England provides fertile ground not just for food production, but also for the growth of innovation in agricultural technologies.
Agri-Tech East is an independent, business-focused cluster organisation which aims to improve the international competitiveness and sustainability of agriculture and horticulture by acting as a catalyst to accelerate the transfer of knowledge from lab to field. Through its programme of events it brings together farmers and growers with scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs.

Smart Farming: The ‘AI’m of Machine-to-Machine Learning in Agriculture
Tuesday, 20th February, The Sainsbury Laboratory, 47 Bateman Street, Cambridge, CB2 1LR
Can machines be taught to spot diseased crops and weeds and take action to solve the problem? So-called machine learning is already being used to spot patterns and make decisions – in fraud detection, advertising and self-driving vehicles.
