International funding opportunity for innovation in micro and nano-electronics enabled systems and applications
Find out about the funding available from the PENTA EUREKA Cluster, at a KTN hosted webinar on the 18th December.
Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), is working with PENTA to deliver a 2019 call. Up to £2m is available for UK organisations with the objective of:
- Supporting projects along the Electronic Components & Systems (ECS) value chain.
- Helping the formation of innovation “ecosystems” bringing together the best technologies in large enterprises, SME’s, RTO’s and academia to form dynamic new teams that will extend the State of the Art with the potential of subsequent rapid commercial exploitation.
In all projects, partners are required from minimum of two PENTA countries covering at least an essential section of the total value chain. Collaboration is a vital element of PENTA participation, and time must be allocated to identify partners well in advance of the project outline submission deadline of 1st March 2019.
To help those interested in applying, PENTA, Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and the Knowledge Transfer Network are hosting a webinar on the 18th December, between 10.30am and 12pm, to explore the 2019 PENTA funding call.
Delegates can expect:
- an introduction to PENTA and EUREKA
- details about the scope, eligibility and funding available
- an overview of the support available
- a Q&A session

EUREKA is an intergovernmental network launched in 1985. Its aim is to support market-oriented R&D and innovation projects by industry, research centres and universities across all technological sectors. It is a global network of government ministries and innovation agencies of over 45 countries, who collaborate on research and innovation projects.
With its flexible and decentralised network, EUREKA offers project partners:
- rapid access to skills and expertise across Europe

EUREKA Clusters are thematic public private partnerships which convene projects between SMEs, large industry and academia across EUREKA countries. There are currently seven different clusters in different technological fields. As part of supporting increased international UK business involvement, the UK will take part in three EUREKA cluster calls in 2019. Find more information about EUREKA here.
