However, there are over 40 movement and non-movement related symptoms associated with the condition that impact quality of life. These symptoms vary between individuals, over the duration of the condition and during the course of a day. With so many symptoms, effective and accurate monitoring can assist people living with Parkinson’s understand more precisely how the condition affects them, and help them manage it better. TapTrack is a home monitoring device that accurately quantifies a common clinical test used in the management of Parkinson’s disease. It has been designed by and built by people with Parkinson’s, in conjunction with medical professionals and academics, for use by the Parkinson’s community. Through a simple 30 second test, users can objectively monitor their current level of functional performance. Then through engaging with our purpose-built user interface compare their performance over time and in combination with other daily activities, medication and symptoms. The solution empowers people with Parkinson’s to choose how to live life optimally and identify when changes are necessary. Additional features, advice and motivational tools are being embedded to increase the products versatility and enhance the user’s wellbeing.
