Smart Meter Enabled Thermal Efficiency Ratings Innovation Suppliers’ Day
Competition briefing from BEIS for anyone interested in smart meters and thermal efficiency.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is running a Suppliers’ Day on Thursday 2 August for anyone interested in a recently published competition around Smart Meter Enabled Thermal Efficiency Ratings (SMETER).
The competition, which will launch this summer, is to develop, test and demonstrate products that can measure the thermal performance of individual homes.  Products can be a mix of hardware and software and should include use of smart meter data.  Further information is here.
Following this competition, BEIS plans to employ a Technical Assessment Contractor (TAC) to perform independent testing and validation of products generated during the competition.  Details of this notice are here.
The TAC will be required to set up and run a testing and validation programme to provide BEIS with an independent assessment of the performance of the products in a representative scenario.
Those interested in the SMETER competition and TAC contract are invited to the Suppliers’ Day where more information for both will be provided.
To receive details of this event, please register your interest by emailing¬†builtenvironmentinnovation@beis.gov.uk. ¬†Please use the subject heading ‘SMETER Suppliers‚Äô Day’ and indicate which activity you are interested in ‚Äì SMETER competition or TAC.
