Wanted: Knowledge Transfer Manager - Synthetic Biology
KTN are looking for an enthusiastic individual with current and relevant knowledge and experience in synthetic biology principles and technologies.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with current and relevant knowledge and experience in synthetic biology principles and technologies to join the chemistry and industrial biotechnology (IB) team in providing business support to companies working within the bioeconomy, with focus on KTN activities in bioscience using industries and specifically synthetic biology, which includes working closely with external stakeholders. Bioscience includes key enabling technologies such as microbiology, synthetic biology, fermentation, cell technologies, molecular biology, enzymology, bioengineering and systems biology and bioinformatics, which spans a number of industry and market sectors. Thus an interest in one or more of these areas is needed.
The role will facilitate business growth and help drive knowledge transfer between the science base and industry, promote networking and stimulate innovation relevant to bioscience generally and synthetic biology, specifically users and enablers. You will help catalyse the development of new technology-enabled products and processes across a wide range of sectors and industries that will benefit business, the economy, the environment and society.
The post will be varied, working with businesses across the bio economy, but with a focus on opportunities driven by industrial challenges and driving the uptake of IB across the chemistry-using industries and supporting companies wishing to utilise IB but have no experience in doing so. An appreciation of or experience in the use of biosciences within industry, particularly the exploitation of microbiological processes, is needed.
