Watch KTN's webinar on the ISCF Detailed Design for Smart, Local Energy Systems
KTN, alongside Innovate UK, ran a webinar in advance of the launch of the £28m Detailed Designs of Smart, Local Energy Systems competition.
The competition will be launched by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) this summer as part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF), Prospering from the Energy Revolution Programme.
Full details of the competition are now available here – closing date 7th August.
The “Prospering from the Energy Revolution” Challenge Fund will support industry, academia, public bodies, and local communities to develop a world-leading, smart local energy systems industry in the UK.  The government expects this industry to be worth billions of pounds by the early 2020s, supporting tens of thousands of new high-value jobs associated with design, testing, manufacture, financing, installation and operation of new energy products and services across the wider low-carbon energy economy.
This competition will fund the development of detailed designs for smart, local energy systems which integrate heat, power and transport in an intelligent way.
The 30-minute webinar gives potential applicants advanced sight of the opportunity to maximise the time available to build consortia and project ideas.  Further briefing events will take place when the competition opens in the summer.
