Knowledge Transfer Manager - European Programmes
I am a Knowledge Transfer Manager – European Programmes, in the Global Alliance team, supporting Innovate UK Business Connect’s programme of European engagement. My role focuses on increasing the engagement of UK businesses with appropriate European Programmes to ultimately grow UK return on investment.
I started my professional career in research and innovation working for the European Commission Joint Research Centre based at the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) on a series of projects on Environmental Technologies. Following this, and over more than 15 years, I have worked in Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer for several organisations (based in Brussels, Spain and the UK) ranging from policy makers, national research agencies, innovation and business support agencies and academia.
Some of my achievements include successfully implementing an engagement strategy as Marie Curie NCP (for Spain) in FP6 that saw an increase of 40% in engagement, 20% in applications and 10% in success rate, in comparison with previous programme figures while working for the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Spanish Innovation Agency CDTI-SOST. I have also led the design and management of pre and post award policies and processes for development, award and management of EU consortiums and applications ranging from £100,000 to £4 million in award in several scientific/technological areas but mainly Health, AgriFood and Climate.
I trained as a Biologist with specialisation at Postgraduate level in Environmental Biology from the Universities of Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (UAM), Huddersfield University and Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
