IEA District Heating and Cooling Technology Collaboration Programme Showcase
Join us in Swindon where we will showcase some of the innovative projects previously funded by the IEA District Heating and Cooling Technology Collaboration Programme (IES DHC)
Background
The IEA District Heating and Cooling technology collaboration programme (IEA DHC) brings together countries to research, innovate and grow heating and cooling networks, improving the design, performance and operation of distribution systems and consumer installations. Current member countries are: USA, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Republic of Korea, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the UK.
About the event
On the 17th February 2025 the IEA DHC will host a showcase event in Swindon, sponsored by Innovate UK, to showcase some of the innovative projects previously funded by the programme. The event will also give delegates the opportunity to influence future innovation funding from the IEA DHC in 2025.
This event will bring together UK DHC practitioners, innovators and academics working in the field of district heating and cooling. As a group we will explore the challenges associated with the following themes:
- Improving the business case for DHC including flexibility and the integration of prosumers.
- Decarbonisation and temperature reduction in DH networks.
- Integration of renewable energy sources into existing DHC systems.
- Hybrid energy networks.
- Digitalisation – systematic optimisation of DHC in the era of big data.
- Improving district heating infrastructure.
The output from this event will help form the UK’s recommendations to the IEA DHC programme for future funding. If you would like to attend the event, please complete the “expression of interest” registration below. You will be notified whether you have a place at the event by 3rd February 2025. We will make every effort to include as many people as possible.
Please no that this is an in-person event only.
