Africa-UK AgriFood Innovation Mission 2020 - Week 6
KTN and Innovate UK are pleased to launch stage two of the virtual missions in July and August as part of the GCRF AgriFood Africa Programme.
The virtual missions are the next stage in the delivery of the GCRF AgriFood Africa programme. These missions continue the effort to build a community of stakeholders from numerous African countries and the UK, to realise sustainable management of the food production systems in Africa in a way that alleviates poverty, enhances economic prosperity and delivers improved well-being.

These missions will highlight some of the challenges and trends within African AgriFood systems and provide members networking and collaboration opportunities. We will also be announcing the next round of funding calls, giving you updates on some of the activities happening across the network and time to connect with and present to other members.
The first weeks of activity featured a variety of morning and afternoon activities and are our way of maintaining progress for the programme in response to the Covid-19 situation which has prevented any face-to-face meetings between potential partners. Members have given us excellent feedback on the events, and we are delighted so many of you were impressed with the scale and scope of opportunities and sessions available. Content can of course be rewatched at our YouTube and Facebook page.
The next round of activities takes place over weeks 4, 5 and 6 and incorporates feedback from members of the programme. These weeks will focus on specifically targeted sessions to enable participants to achieve significant progress within this programme. Participants are encouraged to select sessions which most suit their areas of interest.
These sessions (weeks 4, 5 & 6) will inform you about:
- New funding opportunities and guidelines
- Collaboration and networking opportunities
- Round table discussions from leading experts on specific African AgriFood areas, and opportunities to network with other delegates interested in these areas
