Overview
The goal of Global Alliance Africa’s Open Innovation intervention is to help African companies find innovative solutions to technical problems that their traditional supply chains cannot solve. We do this by promoting cross-sectoral innovation transfer from organisations beyond their usual supply chains. Using our bespoke platform, we run Open Innovation Challenges to match real industry problems for large businesses with innovative companies or academic institutions who can provide novel, market ready solutions to those problems.
About the event
This event will provide further information about the challenge, and a Q&A session to participants. We are inviting potential solution providers to this webinar as an opportunity to learn more about the challenge area.
About the challenge
AMREF is looking to transform its digital learning and data collection tools for Community Health Workers, using next-generation technologies to create a more user-friendly and intuitive system. They also require solutions to interface with their existing data collection platform. They would like to explore gamification, video and embedded visual aids to attract younger users. Particular use cases will be methods of early disease detection/disease surveillance and onboarding and monitoring of new clients in remote areas. The key ask is for innovative ways to overcome current challenges, and enhance AMREF’s delivery of learning tools, and their daily use by Community Health Workers. This can be via any suitable touchpoint (software, device, infrastructure, etc.)
Up to GBP 25,000 seed funding (Subject to T&C) is available for this challenge and Africa-based entrants, UK-based entrants and those from RoW are invited to apply. The winner of these innovation challenges will pitch to AMREF and will be invited to collaborate with them on a trial project.
