This event is co-hosted by Innovate UK and EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). EIT Urban Mobility – the largest community for urban mobility innovation in Europe – is committed to decarbonising the mobility sector and accelerating the transition to sustainable urban mobility by fostering innovation and collaboration across cities and regions, businesses, education, and research.

This event blends best practice exchange, interactive ideation sessions, and project proposal development to explore sustainable, inclusive, and future-proof mobility solutions that can be implemented in cities, suburban and rural areas — and to strengthen collaboration between the UK and Europe.

 

About the Event

This event is co-hosted by Innovate UK and EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

This is a one-day event is designed to spark cross-border collaboration for innovation in the transport and mobility sector.

The event will:

  • Share pioneering case studies and best practices from both the UK and Europe
  • Work in facilitated ideation sessions to define potential project ideas for Horizon Europe and EIT Urban Mobility Programmes
  • Explore how to bridge innovation gaps, align funding, regulation and stakeholder ecosystems
  • Support the early stages of forming project proposals that could address urban mobility challenges such as sustainability, accessibility, decarbonisation, and smart infrastructure

To focus and guide the discussions during the day, the ideation sessions will be centralised around five thematic areas:

  • Urban logistics – smarter, more sustainable freight and last-mile solutions
  • Public transport – improving accessibility, integration, and user experience
  • Mobility data management – harnessing data for efficiency, inclusivity, and innovation
  • Electrification of transport and alternative fuels – accelerating the shift to cleaner energy
  • Health and mobility – ensuring urban transport supports wellbeing of citizens and liveable cities
