About the events

With hydrogen playing a crucial role in achieving Net Zero, these sessions will provide valuable insights into its potential impacts, unpack common misconceptions and provide a forum for knowledge sharing. More importantly, the focus is on creating a ‘marketplace’ for hydrogen by connecting end users to the solution providers.

Who should attend?

Spanning academia, local authorities, innovators and industry, each session offers a unique perspective on the journey towards adopting hydrogen, including the challenges and opportunities it presents. While sessions are grouped by stakeholder groups, all are welcome to attend and can benefit from the discussions. You can find the details on each webinar below.

The webinars will also be utilised to receive live feedback to inform our future programs to support UK businesses and stakeholders.

Agenda: upcoming events

21 October – Exploring Electrolytic Hydrogen (10:00 – 11:30)

The fourth webinar in the Hydrogen myth-busting series will focus on electrolytic Hydrogen projects and demystify topics related to Renewables, Nuclear, cost of electrolytic Hydrogen, and practical aspects on creating Electrolytic Hydrogen economy. Guests from Industry, academia and government will provide insights on policies, share their key learnings and barriers in making Electrolytic Hydrogen a success.

The following will be discussed:

  • Why is electrolytic Hydrogen important for Net zero transition?
  • How does Electrolytic Hydrogen compare to Hydrogen produced by other means and why do we need Electrolytic Hydrogen?
  • Should we make sure that the large share of Hydrogen used is Electrolytic Hydrogen and why?
  • Curtailment is a huge issue, but we cannot rely on curtailed Renewable energy to run Hydrogen economy. what is the best way to get enough supply of Electrolytic Hydrogen?
  • How can Renewables, Nuclear and Hydrogen supply chain work together to achieve success/net zero?

28 November – Hydrogen R&D – Bridging the gap between academia and industry (10:00 – 11:30)

Join us for the fifth webinar of the hydrogen myth busting webinar series. The fifth webinar in the myth-busting series will showcase innovative R&D projects that are advancing hydrogen technology to support the UK’s path to Net Zero. Discover how innovative research and strategic partnerships between academia and industry are driving progress towards a sustainable energy future.

Hear from leading experts across the UK on hydrogen research and innovation, including case studies on successful partnerships and emerging innovations. This session will offer key insights into the importance of industry-academia collaboration in accelerating the journey to Net Zero.
