About the event

Innovate UK’s £60 million Net Zero Living Programme is using user-centred design to help local authorities and businesses deliver new solutions that benefit people, improve local services, and open markets for economic growth.

Each month we will explore how the Net Zero Living Programme local authorities are working with partners to innovate net zero delivery.

Who should attend?

  • Local authorities
  • Public sector organisations
  • SMEs and innovators in the net zero space
  • Policymakers
  • UK stakeholders within the Climate, Energy and Mobility sectors

Whether you’re a local authority looking to accelerate your place’s net zero transition, a community group creating local impact or policy expert, this webinar is for anyone interested in a place-based and just transition to net zero.

  • Webinar 1: Strengthening communities through place-based innovation

Climate delivery without legitimacy is slow, fragile and contested. But participation, done well, builds the mandate to act. It unlocks trust, aligns internal priorities, and ensures climate action meets real local needs.

By positioning climate action as a strategic enabler, councils can address long-standing challenges and deliver cleaner, fairer and more prosperous communities. It becomes a practical tool for unlocking investment, improving lives and creating the conditions for local success.

This webinar will demonstrate how the Net Zero Living Programme places are making this shift, and putting people’s needs at the heart of climate action.

    Why attend?

The next phase of this pioneering programme will  focus on embedding, scaling, and growing the impact of net zero project initiatives. Join this webinar series to hear key insights from seven Net Zero Living Demonstrator projects, showcasing impact, lessons learned, and how this work can be replicated and scaled across the UK and beyond.

The Demonstrator project presentations will explore:

    • How to do net zero faster and avoid duplication,
    • Project successes and lessons learned,
    • How their work can be replicated, and
    • How projects are scaling their initiatives.

This webinar is the first of four in a series:

    • How net zero benefits people, Wednesday 3 December 12pm-1pm
  • Webinar 2: Building capacity, creating partnerships and leveraging data

    7 January, 12pm-1pm
