With specialist support from Innovate UK EDGE, a UK company that makes things easier for installers of audio-visual equipment has boosted its turnover.

The MRE Investor Showcase event offers a gateway to some of the UK’s leading innovators who are bringing ground-breaking ideas to fruition, directly into the advanced materials sector. Participating in this year’s Investor Showcase were 23 exciting companies across the materials value chain, including metamaterials, materials for space, graphene, bio-based materials, energy and construction materials.

On 19 August, the Global Alliance Africa project delivered by Innovate UK KTN hosted an online dialogue under the theme “Accelerating Youth-led Innovations” to commemorate Nigeria’s International Youth Day.

In May 2022, as part of Innovate UK’s Global Expert Missions Programme commissioned by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) with funding from the Global Research and Innovation Programme (GRIP), a team of UK experts led by Innovate UK KTN visited Canada and the US to improve our understanding of the research and innovation landscape in the field of critical materials.

A multi-million pound programme will turn Bristol Temple Meads into the UK’s first ‘Station Innovation Zone’, trialling new technologies designed to upgrade passengers’ experience.
