2019 IOM3 Awards
Nominations are now open for the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) Awards 2019.
The IOM3 Awards cover a range of awards, medals and prizes that recognise personal achievement for both published work and for contributions to the profession. The awards will be presented throughout the year at several special occasions, with some award winners also delivering lectures. All nominations need to be submitted online with the closing date for nominations set for Thursday 31st January 2019.
There are awards in numerous categories including personal achievement, awards for published work, and awards by other bodies, as well as in a number of disciplines including biomedical, ceramics, composites, metals, minerals and mining, packaging, and polymers.
Some examples of awards include the Tom Bell Surface Engineering Medal, rewarding the contribution of an individual in surface engineering, as well as the Bessemer Gold Medal for outstanding services to the steel industry. The Chapman Medal meanwhile recognises distinguished research in biomedical materials, while the Colwyn/Hancock Medal will go to an individual for outstanding services to the rubber industry.
