Are you ready for the next round of GCRF Demonstrate Impact Competition Briefing Events?
KTN and Innovate UK will deliver a series of information briefing and partnership building events to support the SECOND competition round.
How to increase impact through innovation in developing countries
The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) is a £1.5 billion fund announced by the UK Government in late 2015 to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries.
GCRF consists of a series of calls designed to enhance the overall impact across strategic GCRF Challenge portfolios including:
- global health
- education
- sustainable cities
- conflict and displacement
- resilience
- food systems
As per the last round of events, a strong ‘human-centred design’ element will be embedded in both of the forthcoming events in 2020. Human-centred design (HCD) is a creative approach used to describe a process of designing products and services for people. People are unpredictable so prototype and test your ideas as frequently as possible. The mantra is ‘fail fast, learn fast’.
The Fund aims to reduce poverty by generating and putting into use knowledge and technology to address development challenges and advance development for the poorest people and countries. Demonstrate Impact funding in particular will support later-stage or closer to market projects that show excellent potential for transformative, positive change in the lives of people in and on the economies of lower and middle income countries (LMICs).
The upcoming next round of briefing events in 2020 will reveal the competitions context, aims & scope, along with application tips and networking opportunities.
