Breakthrough technologies disrupting the food and drink industry
KTN’s Prof. Bryan Hanley will examine innovation outside the food space in a seminar on disruptive technologies at Food Matters Live 2017.
Food Matters Live, taking place on 21-23 November 2017 at ExCeL in London, is a business-to-business, cross-sector event for the food and drink industry, retailers, foodservice providers, government and those working in nutrition and health.
The programme includes a series of seminars, or themes, which will showcase innovation, provide insights and provoke discussion:

- Food futures
- Tackling obesity
- Free-from, allergy and intolerance
- Nutrition for health and wellbeing
- Packaging: innovating through design

As part of the Food Futures session, Professor Bryan Hanley, Specialist in Agri-food at KTN, will speak on the topic of “Jumping the S curve: examining innovation outside the food space.”
Prior to joining KTN, Bryan held the post of Director, Scientific Discovery with Mars Inc. based in Chicago and was Research Director at Leatherhead Food Research. He has previously worked both in the commercial and public sectors and his research interests include natural products/phytochemicals, biomarkers, the commercialisation of science and the relationship between health and homeostasis.

Bryan will also be part of the expert panel of industry professionals judging the Food Matters Live Awards – winners will be revealed at Food Matters Live on 22 November.
