Call for Papers and Exhibitions: First International Conference on Construction Circular Economy
Call for Papers and Exhibitions: First International Conference on Construction Circular Economy
Circular economy is an economy model where growth comes from increasing the value derived from existing economic structures, products and materials and innovation. This can be achieved by maintaining the integrity of a product at a higher level (technical and economic durability), using products longer (repeat use), cascading use in adjacent value chains and creating pure, high quality feedstock (avoiding contamination and toxicity). In contrast, in a linear economy, new resources are consumed to make products which are then discarded at the end of service life.
The construction industry has been identified to have the highest potential for circular economy innovation, value retention and creation opportunities, and is starting a transformative journey of changing its model from a linear economy to a circular economy.
This first international conference on Construction Circular Economy will bring together construction industry circular economy practitioners, researchers, policy makers, clients, suppliers, funders and other stakeholders. It will be a platform to showcase achievements so far, to identify future challenges and to devise new methods of working so as to speed up the transformative journey.
