DfT seeks input to help shape a new UK aviation strategy
This is your chance to submit evidence to the Department for Transport on its proposal for a new UK aviation strategy.
The DfT is now seeking feedback on its green paper which outlines proposals for a new aviation strategy. The strategy will set out the challenges and opportunities for aviation to 2050 and beyond and will emphasise the significance of aviation to the UK economy. It will cover areas such as:
- developing a partnership for sustainable growth which meets rising passenger demand, balanced with action to reduce environmental and community impacts
- improving the passenger experience, including through technology and innovation, a new passenger charter and action to reduce delays at the border
- building on the UK’s success to establish new connections across the world and create greater choice for consumers
KTN has already been involved in informing the new DfT strategy through the Future of Flight work it conducted on behalf of Innovate UK. The data acquired through the stakeholder consultation on this project covers many of the above themes (e.g. passenger experience, environmental and community impacts and reducing delays).
If you wish to submit evidence to DfT, you can do so via this link. The deadline for submissions is 11 April and a final white paper version of the aviation strategy will be published by the middle of 2019.
