• Support business, making the UK the go-to place for quantum businesses and an integral part of the global supply chain, as well as a preferred location for investors and global talent.
• Drive the use of quantum technologies in the UK to deliver benefits for the economy, for society and for our national security.
• Create a national and international regulatory framework that supports innovation and the ethical use of quantum technologies and protects UK capabilities and national security.

The decision to host the mission in Australia underscores the importance of international collaboration in the development of quantum technologies. It also reflects the UK’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships in the global quantum technology ecosystem.

The future of quantum innovation

In November 2023, the UK government published a joint statement between UK and Australia on cooperation in quantum science and technologies stating shared commitments and visions. This, along with the continued exchange of knowledge and best practices is expected to have a transformative impact on the UK’s quantum industry. This could involve sharing research findings, best practices, and exploring opportunities for joint partnerships on education and workforce development, regulatory frameworks and standards, ethics and Diversity & Inclusion, VC, and technology commercialisation. Throughout this mission, the expert delegation will have the opportunity to engage with other leading experts, network with key stakeholders, and gain global insights into the latest developments in the quantum technology landscape.
