Overview

For over 40 years, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) have been helping organisations in every sector innovate for growth. How? By creating a dynamic, three way partnership Рpart funded through Innovate UK Рwhich links them with one of the UK’s world class universities, and a talented Graduate/Post Graduate (a KTP Associate who acts as Project Manager). As a result, KTPs have a long and successful legacy of achieving transformational change (financial, operational and/or cultural) as well as embedding knowledge. Today nearly 800 organisations are involved in KTPs.

Applicable to a diverse range of projects and sectors, KTPs can play an important role in Medicines Manufacturing and this KTN webinar on 16th September illustrates why. In this 1 hour session you will hear from each of the three partners in a recent KTP: the company (Lamellar), the university (UCL) and the Associate (Marco Rotondi); as well as have the chance to find out more about how KTPs marry funding and expertise to create real, positive change.

Expect to discover what challenges the KTP was designed to overcome and why a KTP was the most appropriate vehicle to achieve this; how the university was able to apply its expert research to the project; how the Associate deployed his knowledge to help the project flourish; and the valuable role of the Knowledge Transfer Adviser (in this case, Dr Trevor Gregory) in supporting the project throughout.

KTP aims to help businesses improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills held within the UK knowledge base.  The Knowledge Transfer Network delivers the KTP programme for Innovate UK funded through UK Research and Innovation as part of the government’s Industrial Strategy.
