Industrial Heat Recovery Support Programme Consultation
BEIS and KTN are seeking innovators, academics and industry leaders to participate in a consultation on the Industrial Heat Recovery Support Programme
Recovering waste heat from industrial processes
Improving energy efficiency will be key for achieving the Industrial Strategy’s aims of reducing business energy costs, improving industrial productivity and competitiveness and driving clean economic growth. The recovery of waste heat from industrial processes is an energy efficiency measure that can immediately deliver all of these things, by reducing fuel requirements and helping industry avoid energy waste. The associated reduction in carbon emissions will also help the UK meet its legally binding Carbon Budgets.
The IHRS consultation;
- Seeks views on the design of a proposed Industrial Heat Recovery Support Programme, as outlined in the consultation document;
- Seeks to gather additional evidence on the barriers and enablers affecting industrial heat recovery, to ensure the Programme is appropriately designed and maximises value for money; and
- Aims to identify a potential pipeline of projects from across the industry sectors.
We would very much welcome your input to the consultation via the online form at https://www.gov.uk/government /consultations/industrial- heat-recovery-support- programme
