Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund 'Detailed Designs for Smart, Local Energy Systems' competition – series of events
KTN is running briefing events in London, Cardiff, Manchester, Belfast and Edinburgh in advance of this £30m competition
As part of the Industrial Strategy the Government will invest in the Prospering from the Energy Revolution Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) to make the UK a global centre for integrated energy systems that deliver cleaner and cheaper energy.
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), in collaboration with the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and KTN, is running a series of events about the new funding competition ‘Detailed Designs for Smart, Local Energy Systems’ to give details of how you can get involved.
The £30m competition will support the development of intelligent and highly investable energy system solutions that make the best use of cheaper renewables, energy storage, electric vehicles, energy efficiency, low-carbon heat and digital infrastructure.  The briefing events will include:
- an opportunity to hear about the scope of the competition in more detail
- opportunities to network and develop ideas and partnerships for the competition
- an opportunity to meet and explore ideas with UKRI, BEIS, KTN and wider stakeholders
The Prospering from the Energy Revolution Challenge will develop cutting-edge approaches to local systems that deliver cleaner, cheaper, energy for consumers, while creating high value jobs and world-leading capability across for the UK. It is about showing people that they can live low-carbon lifestyles in low-carbon places more conveniently and more comfortably. It will revolutionise energy management for consumers through new smart systems that can deliver energy according to the society’s needs and wants from a modern energy supply that is clean, efficient and affordable.
