KTN sponsors animal science scholarship for early career individuals and students
KTN is sponsoring the Steve Bishop Early Career Award, a scholarship for individuals in their early career in animal science.
This year, KTN is sponsoring the BSAS Steve Bishop Early Career Award.
The Steve Bishop Early Career Award is a scholarship aimed at individuals in the early part of their career as an animal scientist. This includes:
- Postgraduate students
- Students who are within two years of graduation with a PhD
- Individuals working in commerce or industry with an equivalent level of experience without necessarily having a PhD
Professor Steve Bishop was a world-renowned scientist. He made an outstanding contribution to the understanding of the impact of genetics on infectious diseases in farm animals.
The award is worth up to £5,000 depending on the project duration. It is for specific short research programmes and/or training opportunities in the UK, or overseas, with a new academic or industrial partner.
The overall aim is to help support and develop a new partnership rather than a piece of work with a current partner/organisation. In some circumstances it may also be used to part-fund projects.
If you are interested in applying, you can find more information on the BSAS website here. If you have any queries, get in touch with Lucy Mather, one of our Agri-Food Knowledge Transfer Manager.
