Analytics Going Viral – tools to meet the needs of viral vector analysis
Wednesday 7th July, 14:00 – 17:30 | Online
On 7th July 2021, KTN held this event to discuss the current state of the art, challenges and potential solutions around analysis of adeno-associated virus and lentiviral vectors.
The event included contributions from speakers representing companies, academia, RTOs and others.
On 31st March, KTN, in partnership with Innovate UK, hosted the Medicines Manufacturing Challenge Community Event, showcasing the latest projects and the research and infrastructure developments that will accelerate the development and manufacture of vital advanced therapies, medicines and vaccines in the UK. We were delighted to have Steve Bagshaw, during his first week as the Government’s Vaccine Task Force Supply Chain Lead, to share his thoughts on the extraordinary year we have just experienced, and where we go from here. You can read this piece here.
On Thursday 17th June, the Chemistry and Industrial Biotechnology Team at KTN is excited to extend its series focusing on accelerating Net Zero in Chemical Manufacturing to explore further opportunities in energy and resource efficiency. For the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) session we are also collaborating with KTN’s Health Team to consider the energy challenges across chemicals and the medicines manufacturing communities. KTN’s Medimap is a new interactive reference tool for the UK medicines sector, mapping and categorising over 3,000 sites of organisations engaged in or supporting the end-to-end supply chain for medicines – this covers organisations involved in the discovery, development and manufacture of medicines, as well as those supporting the sector.
The interface presents different views of the UK landscape which can help identify the opportunities for collaboration to accelerate ambitious ideas into real-world solutions. Users can explore the organisations belonging to different groups, categories and sub-categories.
Survey: Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Net Zero/Sustainability in Medicines Manufacturing
Following our Medicines Manufacturing Challenge Community showcase event on 31st March we had a lot of interest in our panel discussions on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and in Net Zero and what these important themes mean for the sector. The Medicines Manufacturing Challenge Community is supporting the sector in Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and Net Zero/Sustainability. We would like to hear from you if you are interested in informing or participating in future activities in these areas. Please help us in the drive to a more sustainable and inclusive Medicines Manufacturing sector by completing this survey.
National Horizons Centre: Advanced therapies, vaccines and bioprocessing skills survey
What skills demand is there in the bioindustry? National Horizon Centre at Teeside University would love to hear from advanced therapies and vaccine developers and manufacturers, and bioprocessing organisations, about your current employee training needs, and future workforce requirements. Biomedical catalyst 2021: early and late stage awards
UK registered businesses can apply for a share of up to £18 million to develop innovative healthcare products, technologies and processes. This funding is from Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation. Your project can address:
- disease prevention and proactive management of health and chronic conditions
- earlier and better detection and diagnosis of disease, leading to better patient outcomes
- tailored treatments that either change the underlying disease or offer potential cures
