Textile Innovation Network 2018 Announced
Textiles Scotland present this year’s Textile Innovation Network 2018, taking place on 29th November at The Principal Hotel in Edinburgh.
The event, sponsored by the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA), will be a dynamic day, full of speed-pitching innovation opportunities and idea generation. KTN shall be supporting this year’s event. If you have an interest in process and product innovation, product diversification, digitalisation, or data, then this is the event for you, granting you the opportunity to pitch your own idea. It will also give attendees the chance to meet DASA, to hear about what they do and how they may be able to fund your ideas.
To demonstrate the effectiveness of the Textile Innovation Network, following the 2015 edition of the innovation event, Textiles Scotland successfully supported 9 textile innovation projects. Textiles Scotland utilises its Textile Innovation Network to unite creators and innovators from the Scottish textile industry with business support service providers and funders.
Alongside support from Innovate UK and KTN, the event is supported by Interface and Scottish Enterprise, while Strathclyde University and Edinburgh University will provide the most up-to-date academic research in textiles, data and digitalisation. Tickets are open to anyone from the Scottish textile industry, and anyone in Scotland with an interest in innovation, including those from other industries that can see the opportunities in cross-sector innovation. For instance, though there is a focus on textiles there shall be representatives from other sectors, such as advanced materials, health, and food and drink.
Applications are now open to pitch at Textile Innovation Network 2018. You are eligible to apply to pitch if you are a UK-based business, carry out your activity in the UK or are an SME. Closing date for pitching applications is Monday 15th October.
