The Smart Specialisation Hub Announces its 1st Annual Conference
The Smart Specialisation Hub will host its first Annual Conference on 29th November with a variety of stakeholders expected.
The Smart Specialisation Hub provides free objective analysis and support to improve local and national understanding of an area’s distinctive innovation capabilities. By supporting local actors and aligning their activities with national policies the Hub aims to achieve higher levels of economic growth and productivity.
The Annual Conference will bring together Government, agencies, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Combined Authorities and universities to reflect on the essential role place-based innovation and collaboration must play in fully leveraging the UK’s leading research and innovation strengths.
The conference agenda will cover the future and structure of Local Industrial Strategies, driving investment, bringing together local actors in a place-based context and measuring and exploiting civic university activity.
Senior representation from BEIS, UKRI, partner organisations and academia will be in attendance giving delegates the opportunity to network with important figures working in the place policy space.
